Yi Yi can read English

"See me?" said Dee. "I am Dee," said Dee. "See the seeds?" said Dee. "I see the seeds," said Dee. "I seed the seeds," said Dee. "I see the seeds I seed," said Dee. Yes, she read those words today and then went on to read 8 more short stories that were similar. I could see that light that goes on when a child first learns they can recognize words. I remember it with Lane. She was so excited that she sat down and did another English lesson with Rosetta Stone with no prompting from me. Yi yi is so determined to learn English and she wants to know the correct grammar too. She asks for help and practices saying things the correct way. Today we were happy for her as it's another connection to her new country and it's something she's said she has wanted to do since the first day we met her. I am very grateful that God has allowed me to teach my children at home and I'm thrilled that I have been able to teach each of my children to read. Tomorrow is three months home and Brad and I are astounded at her progress in every way. Blessings, Lisa

  2. Oh, that is SO GREAT!! Macy is so much that way too. She REALLY wants to speak English correctly and works hard at it. I so wish we lived closer so our girls could hang out together.
